Raspberry

The raspberry is the edible fruit of a multitude of plant species in the genus Rubus of the rose family. Most of which are in the subgenus Idaeobatus; the name also applies to these plants themselves. Raspberries are perennial with woody stems.

Appearance: Raspberries are small, delicate fruits typically measuring 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter, with a plump, rounded shape and a vibrant red color. Some varieties can be amber, yellow, or even purple. Their surface is covered in tiny, soft hairs called drupelets, which give them a fuzzy texture. When ripe, raspberries are quite soft and easily squished, but when unripe, they are firmer and slightly tart.

Taste: Raspberries are known for their sweet and juicy flavor with a hint of tartness. They have a delicate aroma that is often described as floral or honey-like. The taste can vary slightly depending on the variety, with some being sweeter and others having a more pronounced tartness.

Texture: The texture of a raspberry is soft and juicy, with a slight give when bitten into. The tiny drupelets add a slightly grainy texture, but this is barely noticeable. Ripe raspberries are very delicate and tend to fall apart easily, while unripe ones are firmer and slightly crunchy.
